Jonathan Mills, PresidentJonathan Mills, Mills Builders President and Production Manager

Jonathan attended the University of Texas at Austin where he studied architecture and German literature, earning the B.A. degree.  He commenced his apprenticeship in the building trades while he was in high school.  When his studies at the University of Texas were complete, Mr. Mills relocated to Berkeley, California where, for a period of years, he worked and learned from the most respected contractors in the Bay Area. 

Jonathan is the President and Production Manager of the business.  He approaches his role as Production Manager in a practical, hands-on, way. 

His talents and interests encompass architecture, landscape architecture, and advanced methods and techniques in light construction.  Sierra Style, Inside Publications, and Professional Remodeler are just a few of the periodicals that have featured Jonathan’s work.

Jonathan resides in Clarksburg with his wife and their three children.

 

Carol Schluntz, Mills Builders Vice President, SalesCarol Schluntz, Vice President, Sales

Carol serves the business in the highly visible role of   V.P. of Sales.  In this capacity, she meets and works with all Mills Builders clients and prospective clients and she participates actively in Mills Builders Seminars. 

Carol attended the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at Dallas where she earned an MBA degree.  Following a long and successful career as an educator, she rose quickly in the executive ranks of the banking and financial services industries, ultimately launching and successfully managing a brokerage business in the Dallas, Texas area.

She is an avid and expert gardener and busy grandmother to six growing children.  Throughout her adult life, Carol has been a student of fine homebuilding and design.  She is a terrific source of information for anyone planning a remodel or new home.

Mrs. Schluntz resides, with her husband, in El Dorado County. 

 

Travis Johnson, Mills Builders Vice President, Finance and ITTravis Johnson, Vice President, Finance/IT

Travis is involved in the marketing and financial aspects of the company. He also manages the company’s computer network and constantly evaluates the usefulness of new hardware and software products for our business. 

Travis attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science.  He subsequently undertook post-graduate study at the University of Houston, College of Law.

Travis is a resident of East Sacramento.

 

 

Stephen Mott, Mills Builders DesignerStephen Mott, Designer

Stephen received his Masters Degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. During his 7 years in Boston, he worked as a residential designer completing a wide breadth of well-crafted single and multi-family projects.

On the design side of the Mills Builder’s Design-Build team, Stephen is committed to providing homeowners with finely-tuned designs that merge seamlessly into a cost-effective & quality-driven construction process.

Recently returned home from the east coast to his native Yolo County, Stephen is enjoying the hands-on challenges of remodeling his 1886 Victorian house while studying hard in pursuit of his architectural license.

 

Kevin Doyle, Mills Builders DesignerKevin Doyle, Designer

A native of Lake Tahoe, Kevin grew up around the construction and design industry.  Kevin received his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Southern California, as well as several certificates in Art and Graphic Detailing from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America.

Kevin takes a holistic approach to design, recognizing that all areas of a clients life and experience will inform a design, as well as realizing that a good design encompasses not just the building, but everything inside and out, as well as the experience the client has while interacting with their new space.

Kevin’s interests are much wider than just the design of a project, but also in Landscape, interior architecture and decoration, art, events, and graphic design.  

Kevin lives in the Curtis Park area with his wife Olivia and their Boston Terrier Oskar. 

 

Amy Blair, Mills Builders Interior DesignerAmy Blair, Interior Designer

Amy is our in house Interior Designer. She attended Sacramento State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. Amy provides design solutions that are practical, functional and enhance the quality of life for our homeowners. She strives to create spaces that reflect the people who inhabit them.

As Interior Designer, Amy has many responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities include, a multitude of meetings with the homeowners, hours of collaboration with the Designer, product research and selection, and coordination of design details with the job project managers.

Amy is a resident of Land Park.

 


Production Management Team

Danny DePiazza, Mills Builders Project ManagerDanny DePiazza – Project Manager

Danny is a graduate of the University of California at Davis where he earned a B.S. degree in Managerial Economics.  Before joining Mills Builders, Danny worked with a leading Bay Area contractor, completing projects on a freelance basis.

In his role as Project Manager with Mills Builders, Danny performs diverse and wide-ranging duties.  He serves as a bridge between site superintendents and the Production Manager, troubleshooting, advising, and coordinating innumerable details attendant to timely completion of our projects.  Furthermore, Danny enjoys remarkable design skills, and he is comfortable with projects that require a solid working knowledge of multiple trades. 

Danny's energetic, vibrant personality and positive outlook are emblematic of our culture and ideals.
Sacramento is Danny’s hometown.  He is a graduate of Jesuit High School.  Danny resides in the Carmichael area.

 

Luke McDonough, Mills Builders Project ManagerLuke McDonough – Project Manager

Luke is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture and minor in Real Estate Development. He began his work in the construction trades while living in New Zealand and his passion for building continued to grow upon returning to California. After a few years of building custom homes in the Foothill/Gold Country area, he moved to Sacramento and joined Mills Builders.

As a Project Manager, Luke’s eye for detail, design background and experience in a variety of trades help him to be a vital and integral link between home owners, job superintendants and the rest of the Production Team.

He lives in Land Park.
